My favourite views…

Alan has asked us to about our favourite British views, as featured in tonight’s programme on I.T.V. . So here are mine…

  • Cwn Idwal, Snowdoina, Wales.

Cwm Idwal

I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of seeing the views around this corrie, either from the lip or the headwall, it’s always a pleasure to bring groups of new students each year and watch their jaws drop…

  • Dovedale, Peak District, Derbyshire.

Primary school visit on my birthday, leading the class across the stepping stones, ice-creams, it all seemed ‘wild’ to a boy from a mining town.

  • Nottingham Castle, Nottingham.

Completely personal, and to some perhaps not attractive, I’ve always done a lot of travelling by train, as you approach Nottingham station, the castle (though it isn’t really, long story…) comes into view, at this point I know that I’m home.

umm, nice, i like the snowdonia one, and dovedale is genraly a good looking place, i like scotland, theres so much good looking scenery in scotland with the mountains, the lakes, the castles and so on. it also has some pine forrests better than in england, they help it look better, i think when people talk about scotland as a cold desolate place thay are wrong, its not that much colder than the avarage temp in england. Anyway, moving swiftly on, i enjoyed mountain last night, 3 times on ben nevis, looks really good, ive only climbed the south side, but i would love to climb the north face one day.
