Making a claim…

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Thanks to Alan for sending me this link about the United Kingdom’s claims to the sea bed of Antarctica, resource exploitation anyone? This is a good read for both Year Ten and Eleven. Also a nice set of pictures showing newly discovered creatures that inhabit the Southern Ocean.

Thanks to Sam, who has directed me to some great first hand videos of the Gloucestershire floods on YouTube, whilst preparing his coursework task. An example below.

_39138556_floodsign203 Sorry about the lack of blogging Year Ten and Eleven, I’ve just been up to my eyes with work, as many of you have. :) After half-term I promise to get into the usual routine…

My group of Year 11 Geographers should be researching and drafting their coursework, a case study of a flood, over the half-term, ready for writing up in the computers rooms when we return. I’ve now set up a support page on the blog with associated resources and links. I’ll decide the deadline when we return.

I’m sorry that I won’t be able to provide support over the half-term, I shall be in Bangladesh, which is the case-study in our third piece of coursework.

Please remember that work in Year 11 is now worth 50% of your total mark.

Well done on the Coca-Cola work… :)

Year Ten, get ready to meet Wanda…. ;)
