Pacific Garbage Patch

After watching the first episode of the Gorilla in the Greenhouse I was interested and a little shocked to learn about the pacific garbage patch.

The site also has two short introductions to the Gyre and the ocean currents that leads to the garbage patch, if you can cope with the overexcited presenter and can stop wondering why the experts are so close… ;) The second video is here.
