Poetic Rivers

Inspired by a mini-movie put together by Victoria Ellis of river scenes and quotes, Year 8 put together a short poem reflecting their emotions about rivers. We’d appreciate your feedback, and, if willing, your location.

These are brilliant – I especially liked Ryan’s work. (And it’s nice to see that my movie is being used!).

I really loved your river poems,
    Nice rhythm and concise,
A good degree of content shown
    To which I’ve listened twice.
I like the links to flooding
    And to a rivers energy,
    And further how its using
    These to shape it constantly.

Your poetry beats mine, that was hard! Well done, yr8 🙂

How does the cycle start again at the sea Ryan?

Lots of great adjectives used in your poems to describe a river. Great work Year 8! I look forward to more of your work.

Well done to everyone who produced a poem in Mr. Cassidy’s lesson. Rivers flow like the words in a poem, and you’ve painted some nice pictures in words here. Exciting !
