Only tomorrow left before the big day….
For Year 11, in dollars ready for my holiday.
Generator Blog.

About the redevelopment of Stanton site and its impact on the surrounding area. Essential viewing for Year 10 and good revision for Year 11.
I’ve added a wealth of material to the pre-release page, some of which we will be using this week.
I’ve added the usual pre-release PowerPoint, a link to a Teacher’s T.V. video about the future of Antarctica, the Extreme Environments revisions notes (you should have a copy, if not see me), a document about the uses/exploitation of Antarctica and the potential consequences, a PowerPoint about our chosen physical processes and a grade or no grade game.
I would particularly look at revising at least one of the physical processes, you should be able to draw and annotate a diagram if asked.
We didn’t see each other this Monday because of the Bank Holiday, but we are time rich at the moment, I think… Please remember though that some of you will miss sessions because of the exams, you will need to incorporate using the pre-release materials into your own preparation time. Please see me if you have any questions.
I’ve now added the pre-release part.4 PowerPoint. We didn’t get time to review the questions, which we’ll do on Monday. I’ve also added a fling the teacher game on the sectors of industry, to keep you occupied.
We spent the day finalising your coursework marks, which will be sent to the examiner at the end of the week. If you want your mark for the cultural geography unit, please email me or catch me during the day. I have to say I was very proud of your efforts.
Final question… yesterday Nottingham has been dubbed Hottingham after gaining the country’s highest temperature this year, is there any link to the promotion of Forest?
We have now moderated your cultural geography work, over the next couple of days you should be receiving an email from me with your overall mark. Everyone should be pleased, just the exam to go. Everything is now in your hands.
It is that time of year when people are disappearing and reappearing, this is just a fact of life at the moment.
I have now uploaded the Pre-Release PowerPoint 3. This includes our thoughts about the pattern of distribution shown by the group’s clothing, the reasons for China’s dominance, the conditions faced by workers in Bangladesh, reasons why the wealth from manufacturing is not spread and potential ideas for improving workers’ conditions.
I must urge people to look through the resources if you are unable to attend a session. You must be very familiar and confident with the resources and the concepts behind them before the exam.
and congratulations Year 11 on completing your coursework.
Nice contributions today, you should now understand the advantages and disadvantages of shopping out of town and on the High Street. It was my aim to look at then the impacts of out of town shopping on the urban-rural fringe and the C.B.D., but we ran out of time due to our discussions. Please read this earlier post on the doughnut effect in preparation for the next lesson. (more…)
