Contact and sp*m

Monday, February 11th, 2008

I’m suffering from a lot of sp*m at the moment, which means emails from colleagues and students are getting dumped into my sp*m box.

If you are a student can you please make sure your is clear.email subject

If you are a colleague, who I’m not in regular contact with, can you make sure the subject is radical geography.

Best wishes

topfive

Still on a blogging holiday but wrote this before Christmas, so if this goes to plan it should be published on Boxing Day. I’ve now updated Radical Geography to include my top five favourite resources and a nearly complete weather and climate section. I have also added some other content, but you’ll have to do a bit of exploring to find it. :) My aim is to add one new resource for each day of next year, so it will be a long process. When I’ve completed sections I will announce it via the blogs. I’m enjoying working through my content to put what I feel have been my most effective resources together, sometimes resources can be too personal and just work for the individual or the class they were devised for, so I can’t vouch for their quality or whether they will have a use in your classroom.

See you in the New Year.

track santa

Santa is on his way… he’s presently in Tajikistan, you can track him via NORAD.

Recent video of Santa in China. Just make sure you’re in bed before he comes. :)

I’m taking a holiday rest, so see you in the New Year.

Sorry about the lack of posting, over the last two weeks I’ve been suffering from an illness, which is why I was absent for one.

Best wishes for the Christmas holiday, wishing you all a successful and happy New Year. :)

Finally, a quick Christmas question… what has the image go to do with Christmas? Click on the image to find out.

Nice use of words from the B.B.C and a great little day in the life of a carrier bag. Urban tumbleweed reminds me somewhat of the College litter crop, which is doing well this year. ;)

Old Dhaka

Originally uploaded by Mike Cameron.

Just like this photo by Mike. A young boy became my unofficial tour guide around Old Dhaka on the last day. With the help of Peter, our interpreter, I asked him whether he went to school, he did, then Peter told him I was a teacher, shocked, the boy said he was on holiday!

Mission Complete…

UK_Boards You may remember a competition asking people to vote for their favourite U.K. cities on a new Monopoly board. Glad to announce that Nottingham came third… even happier to see Derby near free parking. :) You can view an example of the new board on the website. I wonder whether this tells us anytime about the appeal of the cities, or do the results represent the ability of the settlements to mobilise their virtual communities…. one for discussion.
