‘We are already in a new era of geography’…

As stated by Arctic explorer Will Steger, quoted from a New York Times article, source BLDGBLOG.  Great article by Geoff Manaugh, about how climate change is changing Geography, as ice sheets retreat to reveal new islands in the Arctic, fascinating piece of writing. Required reading for Alan’s classes, but also something for you to think about in terms of Antarctica.

Two Geography blogs made for Geography students by their teachers, added to the sidebar, which you may wish to have a look at. Gorgeousgeography by Melanie Richards ,must have been named after me 🙂 , and Geogboardy by the highly creative practitioner Andrew Boardman. Geography is alive and kicking, we are not alone!

I’ve working on a project about the use of web-based cameras in the Geography classroom. Check out zeitcam that uses captured images to produce time-lapses. Two of my favourites are the Matterhorn and the building of Wembley. Any favourites?

Got to go to the dentist yet again, inflammation, oh joy! 🙁

It’s just a pain really, and I mean pain. I’m now two hours work on one tooth! 🙁 Anyway Geography heals the pain. 🙂

Thanks for adding me to your side bar and of course the site was named in your honour. 🙂
